‘Pirates of Penzance’ fundraiser at Chocolate Church
Christina Boyington and Lynne Otto, a pair of Bath LuLaRoe fashion consultants, are conducting a fundraising sale to support the Chocolate Church Arts Center’s upcoming production of “The Pirates of Penzance,” Sunday, July 17 from 2-5 p.m. The consultants will donate a portion of the proceeds, matched by the LuLaRoe, to the Chocolate Church.
LulaRoe is a women’s clothing line made up of comfy, very wearable clothes from various tee shirt styles, leggings, tunics, and a few dresses in a wide range of sizes. The clothing is primarily sold online with a rare “pop-up boutique,” such as this fundraiser, when customers can try on the flattering styles, see the colorful prints, and touch the “buttery-soft” leggings.
This fundraising sale will be held in the Curtis Room (below the gallery) of the Chocolate Church located at 804 Washington Street in Bath.
“The Pirates of Penzance,” the comic opera by Gilbert and Sullivan, will open the 2016-17 performance season of the Chocolate Church Arts Center. For generations, audiences have loved the story of 21-year-old Frederic, who is released from his apprenticeship to a band of tenderhearted pirates when he meets Mabel, the daughter of Major-General Stanley. This musical will be performed at 7 p.m. on Sept. 11-12, 16-17 and at 2 p.m. on Sept. 13 and 18 on the main stage.
