“Jurassic World”: Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park, Isla Nublar, located off the coast of Costa Rica, now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, filled with genetically engineered dinosaurs.
After 10 years of operation and declining visitor rates, in order to fulfill a corporate mandate, a new attraction is created to respark visitor interest: including the vicious and intelligent Indominus rex. When the massive creature escapes, it sets off a chain reaction that causes the other dinos to run amok. Now, it's up to a former military man and animal behavior expert (Chris Pratt) to use his special skills to save two young brothers and the rest of the tourists from an all-out, prehistoric assault.
Also stars Bryce Dallas Howard and Vincent D'Onofrio. Plays at 7 p.m. now through June 25; and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 21.
The Harbor Theatre is located at 185 Townsend Avenue in Boothbay Harbor, across from Hannaford. For more information, call 207-633-0438 or visit www.harbortheatre.net.

“Ex Machina” is Alex Garland’s slyly spooky futuristic shocker about old and new desires and the relationships that bind together a robot called Ava (a terrific Alicia Vikander), the software zillionaire who created her (Oscar Isaac), and a visitor (Domhnall Gleeson) who’s seriously out of his depth. Final screenings Wednesday, June 17 at 2 and 7 p.m., and Thursday, June 18 at 7 p.m.
“Far from the Madding Crowd”: Based on the Thomas Hardy novel, we visit Victorian England, where the independent and headstrong Bathsheba Everdene (Carey Mulligan) attracts three very different suitors: Gabriel Oak, a sheep farmer; Frank Troy, a reckless sergeant; and William Boldwood, a prosperous and mature bachelor. Playing at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 19, Saturday, June 20, Monday, June 22, Tuesday, June 23; Sunday, June 21 at 2 and 7 p.m., and Wednesday, June 24 at 2 p.m.
“Show Boat”: Captured live at the San Francisco Opera in June, 2014, Showboat is a true classic of American musical theater with a magnificent Jerome Kern-Oscar Hammerstein II score. This tale of life on the Mississippi from the 1880s to the 1920s is both a poignant love story and a powerful reminder of the bitter legacy of racism. Includes the classic songs “Ol’ Man River,” “Can’t Help Lovin’ Dat Man,” and “You Are Love.” Suitable for the entire family. Wednesday, June 24 at 7 p.m.
NT Live Encore Presentation: “The Audience” Starring Helen Mirren as Queen Elizabeth II, I her Best Actress Tony-Award winning performance, the play captures candid discussions between the Queen and her Prime Ministers. For 60 years Elizabeth II has met each of her 12 prime ministers in a weekly audience at Buckingham Palace — a meeting like no other in British public life — it is private. Playing at 2 and 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, Sunday June 28 and Thursday July 2 at 7 p.m.
