“Creed” Adonis Johnson (Michael B. Jordan) never knew his famous father, world heavy weight champion Apollo Creed; he died before the boy was born. Still, there's no denying that boxing is in his blood, so Adonis heads to Philadelphia, the site of Apollo Creed's legendary match with a tough upstart named Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone). Rocky sees in Adonis the strength and determination he had known in Apollo - the fierce rival who became his closest friend.
Reviewing for NPR, Chris Klimek reported, “This is the performance of Stallone's career.” Plays Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m.
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” The Star Wars saga continues with this seventh entry — the first under the Walt Disney Co. umbrella. The film will act as the start of a new trilogy set after the events of “Return of the Jedi.” J.J. Abrams directs from a script by Michael Arndt, which picks up 30 years after defeating the Galactic Empire, Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and his allies face a new threat from the evil Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and his army of Stormtroopers. Film also stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Max von Sydow.

“The Peanuts Movie” Snoopy embarks upon his greatest mission as he and his team take to the skies to pursue their arch-nemesis, while his best pal Charlie Brown begins his own epic quest back home.
