Sailing team finishes fourth
On May 2 the Boothbay Region Sailing Club (BRSC) went to its first regatta of the season in Rockland. The regatta was called the Breakwater Blast 2015 and all racers sailed on 420s. There were two different fleets consisting of nine boats each. The BRSC team consisted of Nathan Graves, Ella Beauregard and Nolan Conlin, all from the Boothbay area, and Alyandro Sanchez and Casey Leeman from Lincoln Academy.
The BRSC program had only been on the water for a week, but managed to finish fourth out of nine. This result would not have been possible without the help and support from the parents. We need to give a special thanks to Eric Graves for volunteering himself and his boat to help with all of the practices.
The Boothbay Region Sailing Club was started in 2011 with the purpose of fostering competitive sailing for all teenagers in the region. The club team is supported by the Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club and the Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club Junior Program Foundation. For more information, call 207-633-5750.
