The Boothbay Region High School boys’ varsity basketball team scored an opening night win at home Dec.9 with a 59-56 victory over Mountain Valley of Rumford.

Senior Carter Babcock led the team with 16 points. Kyle Ames,who added 13, and Eli Gudroe with 11 were the other Seahawks scoring in double figures.

Boothbay (1-0) travels to Madison on Tuesday, Dec. 12 for its next conference contest.
