Seahawks fall to NYA, Monmouth
The Boothbay Region High School boys varsity basketball team lost two games between Christmas and New Year’s Day to fall to 2-6 on the season.
At North Yarmouth Academy on Thursday afternoon, Dec. 28, the Panthers held on for a 46-41 win over the Seahawks. Boothbay was led by Finn Harkins with 16 points, followed by Luke Morley with 14. NYA improved to 2-3 with the win.
At Monmouth Saturday night, Dec. 30, Sam Calder had a great night for the Mustangs, scoring 34 points, as the hosts won easily over Boothbay, 70-37. Monmouth, currently ranked second in Class C South, improved to 5-1 while Boothbay fell to 13th place in the standings.
Morley led Boothbay with 13 points and Harkins added 10.
On Tuesday, Jan. 2, the Seahawks travel to Waynflete to face the 3-1 Flyers.
