Seahawks get two more wins
The Boothbay Region High School varsity field hockey team got two wins this week around one loss to improve to 3-5 on the season.
At home against winless Hall-Dale on Monday, Sept. 21, Boothbay defeated the Bulldogs, 2-0. Page Brown scored the Seahawks' first goal with no time on the clock following the first half. Boothbay played out two penalty corners with regulation expired and Brown scored right in front of the goal on an assist from Samantha Carter.
Boothbay's second goal was scored by Sydney Meader on a 10-foot shot from the right side at 26:13 of the second half.
On Friday, Sept. 18, Kylee Veilleux scored the only goal of the game at 3:55 of the second half as Boothbay fell at Oak Hill, 1-0. The Raiders improved to 6-1 with the win.
On Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Lisbon, Boothbay returned home with a 2-1 victory. The Seahawks got goals from Nicole Clarke and Sydney Meader. Meader assisted on Clarke's goal and Samantha Carter assisted on Meader's goal. Chase Collier scored Lisbon's only goal. Lisbon fell to 1-5 with the loss.
As of Tuesday, Sept. 22, Boothbay was in eighth place in the Class C North Heal point standings.
