Seahawks named 2016 conference all-stars
Twenty-one Boothbay Region High School fall athletes were honored by the coaches of the various sports offered in the Mountain Valley Conference by being named to MVC all-star teams this week.
In girls cross-country, Faith Blethen, a sophomore, won her second-straight girls MVC Runner of the Year award by a vote of the coaches. Blethen was also named a first-team all-star again, while teammates Loren Genrich and Kate Friant were named second-team all-stars, and Evy Case, honorable mention.
In boys cross-country, coach Nick Scott was honored by his MVC peers by being voted MVC Coach of the Year. Boothbay placed three runners on the first-team all-star team, Kyle Ames, Blake Erhard and Will Perkins. Named to the second-team were Rowen Kristan and Bayly Gaughan-Carrasco. Receiving honorable mention were Sam Betts and Will LaBrecque.
In field hockey, Sydney Meader was named a first-team all-star while teammate Page Brown was named to the second-team. Receiving honorable mention were Erica Eames and Jo Shaw.
In girls soccer, Regan Cola was named a first-team all-star, while teammates Angie Perkins and Hannah Cola received honorable mention.
Academic all-stars were Sam Betts, Nicole Clarke, Erica Eames, Kate Friant, Angie Perkins, Molly Thibault and Alexis Welch.
