Hundreds of visitors will head to Southern Maine Community College’s Spring Open House on Saturday, April 11 from 9 a.m. to noon. The event affords the opportunity to learn about academic programs, meet faculty and staff, and tour the college’s beautiful ocean-side South Portland campus. 

Interested persons can preregister and reserve a space online at www.smccme.edu/openhouse. Check-in begins at 9 a.m. 

The April 11 event also provides prospective students and those who have already been accepted an opportunity to learn more about the college and its offerings. More than 400 prospective and accepted students and hundreds of parents are anticipated.

Students who have already been accepted at SMCC will learn about orientation, housing, student life, and their academic program of interest. All visitors can take tours of the campus and residence halls, visit academic departments, and meet with admissions and financial aid staff.

“A college degree is more important than ever before. On average, graduates will see a 73-percent increase in pay in their first year after college,” said SMCC President Ron Cantor. “Students can reap big dividends at an affordable cost at SMCC.”

SMCC holds Open Houses every spring and fall at its South Portland Campus and its Midcoast Campus in Brunswick. The Midcoast Campus Open House will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on May 7.
