Southport accepts town report publishing bid

    Southport selectmen approved Lincoln County Publishing’s bid Jan. 3 to print 450 town reports. Southport will pay $3,800 for the publication which will be ready by the end of February. Selectmen also added two outside agency funding requests for budget committee consideration. On Jan. 8, the budget committee meets with department heads and selectmen at 6 p.m. to consider 2024 spending requests. 

    The Community Resource Council and Boothbay Region Health Center submitted the same requests as last year. In 2023, voters approved $7,500 for each organization. 

    In other action, selectmen received a survey from Aaron Chrostowsky seeking 2023 Municipal Valuation Return and Municipal Tax Rate Calculation figures. Chrostowsky is assisting town officials with updating their comprehensive plan.

    Selectman approved a town hall rental request from Mary and Paul Bloch for Aug. 31 and Sept. 1. The Blochs will hold an anniversary party and celebration of life on those dates. The next selectmen’s meeting is at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10 in the town office.
