Trevett Column: Upcoming potluck and other reminders
The Spofford Lane gang will be our hosts for the Wednesday, Sept. 18 potluck. They are requesting that folks bring either a main or side dish, salad or dessert to share. Maybe bring a little extra if you are bringing guests. As always, water and coffee will be available, but you are welcome to bring your own beverage. The fun will begin at 5:30 p.m. You may contact Evelyn (380-6977 or evelynshahan@gmail.com) with any questions.
And the fun will continue after dinner with some rounds of Bingo.
The August cookout was a great success with a great turnout and amazing weather. Bill had the grill boys in top form turning out delicious hot dogs, hamburgers and cheeseburgers. There was an abundance of side dishes, salads and desserts to round out the meal. Many thanks to all who helped with the set up, the cooking and in the kitchen.
The winning drawing for the lobster raffle took place at the cookout and Ray and Candy Manocchio were the very lucky winners of the 24 lobsters. Again, many thanks to Laura and Bucky for taking care of the raffle.
October’s potluck will feature the usual BICA Halloween party but this year it will be honoring Roland who recently passed away. Roland loved Halloween and over the years attended the parties in the most amazing costumes – a zombie one year, a ghoul another time. Time to start planning your outfit as there will be prizes.
As we head into the cooler months you may want to think about your winter reading. The books on the windowsills at the BICA hall are there for the taking. So feel free to take one or two or several. You are welcome to leave your already read books for others as well.
And don’t forget that Stanley Sr. and Loriann operate Seacoast Redemption located at 15 Hardwick Road. They will donate the value of your returnables to BICA if you let them know. They are located next to Dolphin Mini Golf so you are able to play a round of golf or get yourself a soft serve and help BICA at the same time. BICA appreciates the generosity of Stanley Sr. and Loriann.
