Vintage boat parade/pier party to feature antique cars

Sun, 05/12/2024 - 8:30am

Boothbay Harbor Windjammer Days is proud to once again sponsor the Vintage Boat Parade and Pier Party on Friday, June 28. The event starts with the Vintage Boat Parade beginning at 4 p.m. and is a free event.  Watch approximately 40 antique boats circle the harbor in a regal parade of vessels. Announcing of the parade is done from Whale Park.  Following the parade, many of the participating boats will tie up at The Shipyard in Boothbay Harbor/Bristol Marine for the Pier Party. New this year, a display of classic cars will be on the pier. The Vintage Pier Party is a ticketed event which includes a stunning spread of appetizers put on by BHRG Catering (a fusion of fine cuisine from the Boathouse Bistro, Mine Oyster, and Wharf Street). There will also be live music and a full bar. The Pier Party runs from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

“We are pleased and excited to announce a line up of classic cars has been added to the Pier Party this year, and especially grateful to Bristol Marine for hosting the vintage boats and cars at this spectacular party again.  Guests will not only be able to step back in time and admire the boats of yesteryear but also get up close and personal with some well kept old-time automobiles all set to the backdrop of a historic 165-year-old shipyard. It does not get anymore coastal Maine than this!” said Bruce White, Chairperson of the Friends of Windjammer Days Vintage Boat Parade Committee.

Tickets are $65/person and can be purchased in advance from the Windjammer Days website – https://www.boothbayharborwindjammerdays.org/antique-boat-parade.  Limited tickets will be sold for this event.
