This week at The Harbor Theatre: ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel,’ ‘22 Jump Street,’ ‘Chef’ and ‘Jersey Boys’
“The Grand Budapest Hotel” is Wes Anderson’s comedy masterpiece about the adventures of Gustave H, a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars, and Zero Moustafa, the lobby boy who becomes his most trusted friend. “Grand Budapest Hotel” (rated R) plays Thursday, July 10 at 7 p.m.
22 Jump Street
The Minneapolis Star Tribune calls “22 Jump Street” “... the sequel to end all sequels ...” It follows the 2012 release of “21 Jump Street,” a comedy based on the 1987-91 television series, that introduced the world to Johnny Depp. In the sequel, two undercover cops are assigned to pose as students to try to identify a drug dealer at the local high school.
“22 Jump Street” stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum reprise their roles as bungling cops who, after graduating from the high school (their original undercover job), have enrolled in college, another undercover assignment, with hilarious results.
This film is Rated R for situations and language, “22 Jump Street” plays Friday, July 11 and Saturday, July 12 at 7 p.m., with a Sunday, July 13 matinee at 3 and 7 p.m.
Chef
The audience pleaser, “Chef” returns Monday and Tuesday. Carl Casper (Jon Favreau) suddenly quits his job at a prominent Los Angeles restaurant after refusing to compromise his creative integrity for its controlling owner (Dustin Hoffman). He finds himself in Miami, teaming up with his ex-wife, his friend and his son to launch a food truck.
“Chef,” written directed and stars John Favreau also stars with Sofía Vergara, John Leguizamo, Scarlett Johansson, Oliver Platt, Bobby Cannavale and Robert Downey, Jr.
“Chef” is rated R (for language). It plays thru Monday, July 14 and Tuesday, July 15 at 7 p.m.
Jersey Boys
Director Clint Eastwood's “Jersey Boys,” based on the Tony Award-winning musical about the iconic 1960s rock group, The Four Seasons — before and during their success. Their song hits included “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Walk Like a Man,” “Dawn,” “Rag Doll” and many more.
“Jersey Boys” is rated R for language returns Wednesday, July 16 and Thursday, July 17 at 7 p.m.
