This week at The Harbor Theatre
Chef Carl Casper (Jon Favreau) suddenly quits his job at a prominent Los Angeles restaurant after refusing to compromise his creative integrity for its controlling owner (Dustin Hoffman). Now, he is left to figure out what's next. Finding himself in Miami, he teams up with his ex-wife, his friend and his son to launch a food truck. Taking to the road, Chef Carl goes back to his roots to reignite his passion for the kitchen and zest for life and love.
Reviewing for United Press, Jessica Herndon describes “Chef” as “a delectable take on an out-of-work cook who experiences career rejuvenation when traveling cross-country serving Cuban entrees on a food truck.”
“Chef” was written and directed by John Favreau (director of Wolf of Wall Street and Ironman 3). Favreau also stars in the film with Sofía Vergara, John Leguizamo, Scarlett Johansson, Oliver Platt, Bobby Cannavale, Robert Downey, Jr. and Hoffman.
“Chef” is rated R. It plays through Tuesday, July 1, at 7 p.m., with a matinee on Sunday, June 29, at 3 p.m.
