Seahawks get second win, trounce Bulldogs 8-3
Junior Chloe Arsenault scored four goals and had one assist as the Boothbay Region High School field hockey team easily defeated the Hall-Dale Bulldogs, 8-3, at Perkins Field, BRHS Monday afternoon.
The Seahawks, now 2-6, jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first half before Hall-Dale’s Lauren Henderson made it 5-1 with a goal just before halftime. Hali Goodwin got Boothbay’s first goal, followed by two goals by Arsenault, with assists credited to Goodwin and Cortney Meader, followed by a goal by Riley Sullivan (assist by Kylie Brown) and Arsenault’s third goal, unassisted.
Meader gave Boothbay a 6-1 lead early in the second half, before the Bulldogs’ Ellory Stewart scored at 14:37. Sullivan put Boothbay ahead 7-1 on a goal (assist Arsenault) in front of the net.
Henderson scored again for Hall-Dale (0-7) to make it 7-3, then Arsenault scored her fourth goal for the final tally.
Boothbay lost at Lisbon, 4-3, on Sept. 12 and at Oak Hill, 9-2, on Sept. 14. The Seahawks will travel to Spruce Mountain in Jay on Friday, Sept. 21. The Phoenix defeated the Seahawks, 6-1, earlier this season.
