BRHS/Knox County defeat Camden again
Another close game ended in a 7-6 win for Boothbay Region High School/Knox County Lacrosse over Camden Hills JV on May 30. Camden was looking for the win thus time, however, our guys proved our first win wasn’t beginners luck.
Unofficial stats were: Oceanside’s Camden Powell, one goal; Jacob Johnson, two goals/two assists; and Thomas Coombs, three assists; Boothbay’s Nick Morley, one goal/one assist; Lucas Hardwick three goals/one assist.
Mark Bayaca won the last faceoff in the game ensuring we maintained possession of the ball to end the game.
I can’t say thank you enough to the Oceanside players from Knox County Lacrosse and our local team supporters who have believed in us since day one. These young men are laying the foundation for their lacrosse programs at BRHS and Oceanside, respectively. I’m very proud of their efforts and dedication to starting both programs. I’m also very excited about next year’s incoming freshmen class and the skilled players that we’ll be adding to our roster. Eventually our clubs will be playing as rivals but until then we’re having fun playing together.
Next up on our schedule is Gray/New Gloucester’s JV team. While their youth program has been around about as long as the Boothbay Y’s, their high school team started only a few years ago. Their youth teams have proven to be a good match for us and I suspect their high school team will be as well.
