Seahawks track and field ends season on good note at States
Seahawk boys and girls track and field traveled to Farmington June 1 for the Class C State Championship. The Seahawks faced 27 Class C teams from around the state with the boys placing 13th and the girls tying for 27th.
Boys results
Gerald Gagne outran his seed placing 20th in the 100m dash in 12.21 seconds. Gerald finishes the season in the 10th spot of the Seahawk Top Ten list.
Blake Erhard placed second in the 400m dash in 53.43 seconds. Erhard broke the top school record held by Matt Carter by 0.2 seconds.
Will Perkins and Fox Elder came 17th and 19th, respectively, in the 800m run in 2:13.92 and 2:14.51. Perkins placed sixth in the 1600m run in 4:46.48 and fifth in the 3200m run in 10:38.05.
Quinn Ranta placed 19th in the 110m hurdles in 19.62 seconds, 16th in the high jump for 5’4”, and 10th in the triple jump for 37’6.75. Ranta matched his personal record in the high jump and moved up to number 5 on the Seahawks Top Ten list.
The boys 4x400m relay team – Quinn Ranta, Graham Harris, Fox Elder and Blake Erhard – took 14th in 3:56.75 tying their season’s best time.
The boys 4x800m relay team – Fox Elder, Graham Harris, Blake Erhard and Will Perkins – placed second in 8:34.6 breaking the school record by 14 seconds.
Girls results
Kate Wickline and Grace Campbell placed seventh and ninth, respectively, in the 1600m run in 6:04.56 and 6:06.96, bringing both athletes up to sixth and seventh on the Top Ten list and beating personal records.
Kate Wickline placed 27th in the 800m run in 2:52.85
Ava Schlosser placed seventh in the 1600m race walk in 9:19.59 beating her personal record by 20 seconds and earning third on the Top Ten list.
The girls 4x400m relay – Riley Sullivan, Grace Campbell, Ava Schlosser and Kate Wickline – placed 17th in 5:03.17.
