Oak Hill defeats Boothbay
Adele Surette scored one goal and assisted on three others as the visiting Oak Hill Raiders defeated the Boothbay Region Seahawks, 5-1, in field hockey Monday, Sept. 23.
Oak Hill, now 4-3, led at the half, 3-0, behind goals from Cassie Steckino, Desrae Dumais and Julie Mooney.
Chloe Arsenault made it 3-1 at 13:24 of the second half, scoring off a goalie save, but the Seahawks couldn’t capitalize on any more shots. Surette and Dumais scored for the Raiders in the second half.
Boothbay and Oak Hill each had eight penalty corners. Oak Hill had 18 shots on goal while Boothbay managed 10.
The Seahawks, now 3-4, played without junior Kylie Brown for the second game. Brown broke her foot and will most likely be lost for the season, according to her father, Ted.
