Boothbay Y Dolphins defeat Portland swimmers
In a dual swim meet at Boothbay Region YMCA Dec. 7, the host Dolphins defeated the Greater Portland Swim Team 367-333. The Dolphin boys outscored GPST 187-112, but the GPST girls outscored Boothbay 221-180.
First place finishes
Dolphins taking first place in competitive races with GPST swimmers included: Morganne Phelps in the girls 10 & under 50-yard freestyle (43.39); Ella Watts in the girls 11-12 50-yard freestyle (33.96); Madison Phelps in the girls 13-14 50-yard freestyle (31.67); Beatrix Recoing-Tallen in the girls 9-10 50-yard butterfly (47.57); Hannah Hills in the girls 11-12 100-yard freestyle (1:18.25) and the girls 11-12 50-yard breaststroke (41.15); Abby Amaral in the girls 11-12 backstroke (39.37); the girls 9-10 200-yard freestyle relay team of Allison Smart, Moriah Smith, Morganne Phelps and Arabella Hodgdon (3:11.46); Rowan Kristan in the boys 15 & over 100-yard freestyle (56.44); and Graham Harris in the boys 15 & over 500-yard freestyle (5:50.91).
