Boothbay falls to Lisbon, St. Dom's
On May 13 the Boothbay Region High School boys varsity baseball team fell to a strong St. Dom's team, 21-0.
The loss dropped the Seahawks to 1-8 while St. Dom's remained undefeated on the year.
On May 8, Boothbay fought a hard battle with Lisbon, but was unable to pull out the win. Although the score 16-1, the game was played much closer than that.
Boothbay received a strong pitching performance from starter Nate Colcord, who mixed a sometimes-flummoxing breaking ball with consistent heat.
The score was 7-1 heading into the seventh inning and Colcord had just fired off two consecutive scoreless innings when Lisbon was able to put together a rally and tack on nine runs before reliever Jared Spofford ended the rally with a strikeout.
Boothbay scored its run after Jesse Peters reached base on a bunt and throwing error and scored on Nick Kilgus' run-scoring single.
Boothbay will travel to Mt. Abram on Friday before hosting Hall-Dale Monday, May 20.
