Glory Blethen is Miss Maine Basketball finalist
Boothbay Region High School senior Glory Blethen was named one of the 10 finalists for the title of Miss Maine Basketball during an online press conference Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 24.
Blethen, who recently scored her 1,000th career point, joins her sister, Faith, as having been named a Miss Maine Finalist (2019). Both are the daughters of BRHS head girls basketball coach Brian Blethen and mother Lesley Blethen.
Along with Blethen, three other Seahawks were honored by the Maine Association of Basketball Coaches, who announced the annual McDonald’s All-Stars. There will be no McDonald’s All-Star games this year due to COVID-19 but there will be a press conference on March 19 to announce the winners of Mr. and Miss Basketball titles and the annual foul-shooting contest.
Fellow BRHS senior Kylie Brown and Blethen were named to the Girls C/D South Senior All-Star team, and Brown was named to the Girls Academic All-State Team. Seniors Ben Pearce and Kaleb Ames were named to the Boys C/D South Senior All-Star team.
