The Boothbay Region High School boys tennis team won its first match of the season, defeating Winthrop, 3-1, at Augusta Country Club Wednesday, May 11.

Boothbay’s first singles player Cleyton Splaine defeated Nate Haley, 10-3.

In second singles, Sawyer Blake defeated the Ramblers’ David Gustin, 10-1.

In the close third singles match, Boothbay’s Neal Baldwin lost in a tiebreaker, 11-10, to Joseph Szaras.

In first doubles, Andrew Fowlie and Chase Mansfield defeated Sam Brito and Logan Harrison, 10-8.

There was no second doubles match.
