Boothbay gets first win, defeats Telstar 3-0

The Boothbay Region Seahawks field hockey team got its first win of the season Monday afternoon, 3-0, over the visiting Telstar Rebels on Perkins Field. Boothbay improved to 1-6 while Telstar dropped to 0-7.
The Seahawks scored twice in the first half and added their third goal in the third quarter.
At 9:23 of the first quarter, Magen Burge scored off an assist from Savannah Compare. About three minutes later, Sydney Blake drove home a shot from about 15 feet away. Burge scored the Seahawks’ third goal with 4:34 left in the third quarter off an assist from Lily Nein.
Boothbay dominated play and although the team missed some scoring chances, it led in penalty corners 17 to 1.
The Seahawks will host Dirigo, 5-2 and ranked third in the Class C North division, on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 3:30 p.m.
