Dear Editor:

To the residents of the Boothbay region, I and the staff of the Boothbay Railway Village and museum would like to say a sincere thank you for making the North Pole Express a success. It was obvious that the spirit of Christmas was fully realized throughout the three weekends of the event. The reaction of the children’s faces when meeting Santa or cooking s’mores, among other events was priceless.

I would be remiss if I did not extend Humble gratitude toward Mr. George McEvoy whose vision has made such a positive impact to our community. I finally want to issue a well done to all our team and volunteers who worked so hard to accommodate the multitude of requests, from our train operations people to the ticket office to Santa and his elves and those in town hall handling several facets of this event.

We hope to see you during the upcoming season with some surprise events so Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year
