Dear Editor:

I prefer to respond to on-line commentator cabal in the letters to the editor so that it remains in the public discourse to any master researcher and after being repeatedly asked to simply read the charter written before there was even a CSD board of directors or a board of trustees. In fact, the first pages of the charter outlined how the boards were to be set up. It told of their responsibilities, make-up from respective towns, outlined powers given. I shouldn’t have to tell a Master Researcher, this is, after all, public knowledge. A master researcher would know to go there first. Must have been an oversight.

The selection of the architectural firm was done by two members of each board, the superintendent and a member of each respective town’s selectboard. The selectboard were not voting members but their input and recommendations were included. I know that a master researcher doesn’t have to be told this. You must already know. Any master researcher would be aware of the visioning workshops that were open to the public, held in the high school library, announced in the local paper. Any master researcher would know that. Almost two years of monthly meetings were announced in the local paper, even an average researcher could figure it out.

You most certainly have the absolute right to your own opinion, but not your own facts. A master researcher would demand that!

I will bring this matter to the board of trustees, we will add to the agenda, extend you time to do your research, answer any questions you have and address any concerns you may have. In light of last week’s problems at the elementary school, we are a little busy. A master researcher would know that. Over five years ago, the trustees tried to make the community aware that this day would come. Now you can just sit back and tell us how bad our response has been.

As I stated at the beginning, all you have to do is “read the charter.” A master researcher would have already done that.
