Boothbay team returns from successful Special Olympics Games
The State of Maine Summer Special Olympics Games closed on Sunday, June 11 with many happy athletes. The Summer Games were held in Orono at the University of Maine June 9-11. 1,500 athletes returned to competition.
Boothbay athletes returned from competition with seven gold medals, 10 silver, five bronze, four 4ths ,and one 5th. They practiced hard all season and their efforts paid off.
The weather caused the Parade of Champions as well as Opening Ceremonies to be canceled on Friday.
