Portraits of a community
Time to get creative! Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library is launching a fun community art project for the month of July!
Participants of all ages are invited to submit a 6” x 8" portrait of either someone in the community who has inspired you, or of a place in our community that you love (Library, Footbridge, Opera House etc.). We would love to see hundreds of submissions, so feel free to do more than one if you are feeling inspired!
You can create your portrait using the medium of your choice: (pencil, watercolors, collage, textiles etc). Anything goes! You can stop by the Children’s Room during regular library hours to create a portrait using supplies here at the library, or pick up portrait paper at the front desk during the month of July if you prefer to create at home.
Submit your finished portrait for display in the library on or before Saturday, July 29. Portraits will be on display for the month of August during regular library hours. We have some large walls to fill, so get creative!
