Calling all Midcoast writers! Join us at the Merry Barn for the Nov. 9 Sounding Board featuring Matt Cost. 5:30 p.m. - Gathering and refreshments; 6-8 p.m. - Readings and feedback

The Sounding Board is a new monthly forum for Midcoast writers of all abilities to share brief pieces, receive supportive feedback, and hear new work from a published author.

Writers interested in sharing are invited to submit a piece, for approval, of up to 750 words by Nov. 6 to merrybarnwritersretreat@gmail.com

The Sounding Board monthly meetings are about creating a space for witness, support, and generous questions that facilitate an opening in the writing, allow it to flourish, and gain momentum. Vulnerability is such an important process for writers and as creatives, and it is an aspect we encourage at these meetings. It draws back the curtains on how written and creative works make it into the world, which is an illuminating experience for everyone taking part. After an author shares their work we give feedback in the form of generous questions, which give the author a way to continue to deepen into their work. All community members welcome.

Merry Barn Writers' Retreat is located at 417 River Road, Edgecomb.
