Ocean Point Column: Holidays, an engagement and more
As I sit and write the first column of 2024, I am witnessing the first snowfall of the new year. If you are an outdoor enthusiast I’m certain this is what you have been anxiously awaiting; finally some decent skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing.
Our holidays were extremely busy as I’m sure were yours. Great news in our family arrived on Christmas Eve when our nephew Peter finally announced his engagement to Kelsey Flynn. We have been anxiously waiting for the news for a while and so we are thrilled that it finally occurred. Congratulations to Pete and Kelsey.
We received so many beautiful cards this season; many of them were photographs of family. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly the children grow year after year and yet it makes me realize how fast time passes.
Many shared happy updates of the past year. The Kern Family certainly has a lot to celebrate; Jack is engaged, Caroline is expecting in May and Sarah completed her first year as an oncology nurse. Congratulations to all.
Congratulations to Dan and Kim Shea who are expecting their second child and to big brother Danny. Baby boy Shea was due at the end of December.
I know I have mentioned many times previously, however, I want to thank those who take the time and effort to post their beautiful photos and videos on the Ocean Point website. It’s one of the first activities on my to do list each morning and like many of you it reminds me of how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful community.
The administrator of the website, Sue Clark, is busy compiling photos and information for her second book. We are all patiently waiting for what I’m sure will be a beautiful and treasured publication.
I hope you all have a happy and healthy 2024. I have already begun my countdown to returning to Ocean Point! Have a great week!
