News and notes from the Community Center
Ah, spring: mud, weeding, dump, planting, mulching, spending money at Moose Crossing, Conley’s, Home Depot, Lowe’s, etc. What a busy May.
On Thursday, May 16, our friend and local tech guru from the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library, Bethany Schmidt, will return to visit with us from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to help you with any computer/cell phone/tablet questions you may have. Please drop in and keep Bethany busy! Otherwise, I definitely will…
Richard Plunkett, the Wizard of Odds and Ends and an antique dealer, will lead us on a “Hidden Treasure” Architectural Tour Community Center around 10:30 on the morning, have a “Dutch Treat Lunch” at a Café, tour the buildings, and return to Boothbay about 2:30-3 p.m. Rain date will be Friday, May 24. Richard is so looking forward to telling you about the history of this area. Space is limited so please, please come to The Community Center to sign up. We need a head count!
Don’t forget Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. as Lucy Cressey quoted Jane Carpenter about geneology, “Taking the mystery out of one’s family history!”
Sneak Preview: On July 2, the Community Center will hold a fundraising pie/cake bake sale outside in the parking lot of the Meadow Mall. We plan on having many pies and cakes available. Please don’t count your calories on July 2. And don’t forget, you all have too many guests to feed over the 4th of July weekend, so this is a great time to stock up and not have to clean up your kitchen!
