Starting Wednesday, June 19, the Harrington Meeting House will be open to visitors during late June, and the months of July and August.  It is an historic colonial era meeting house, built in 1772 and moved to its present site in 1775.

The Harrington Meeting House is one of the town's original three meeting houses, and typical of that period, it is of post and beam construction with the main entrance on the long side, a high pulpit opposite topped by a sounding board, and a room filled with box pews.

There is a small collection of historical artifacts from the town on the second floor, and the adjoining cemetery has gravestones of historical interest. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places as Harrington Meeting House in 1970.

It is located at 278 Harrington Road in Bristol, Maine and will be open to the public on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Admission is free, with donations accepted.
