The Waldo Theatre is proud to announce the receipt of a gift of $1,000 from Maine State Credit Union (MSCU) in support of their community arts and education programs. MSCU has signed on at the Partnership level as part of the theatre’s Business Partners and Sponsors Campaign.

The Waldo Theatre is a community-driven non-profit organization that offers a wide range of live performances, films, and classes for youth and adults. Their mission includes a commitment to ensuring that all members of the community have access to the arts, regardless of means. Maine State Credit Union is a community-focused non-profit that provides banking services to all Mainers, both individuals and businesses, with branches in Rockland, Augusta, Waterville, and Gray.

Jennifer Chipman, MSCU’s Vice President in charge of New Business Development, is an enthusiastic champion of community. “Maine State Credit Union has a long-standing tradition of supporting community organizations, and our employees are always looking for ways to contribute locally” Says Chipman. “We admire The Waldo’s creative initiative to use the arts to strengthen the community and are proud to partner with them.”

Waldo Theatre Executive Director Susan Hodder put it this way: “Ensuring access to the arts for everyone, regardless of means, is a critical component of our mission, but we must also maintain a sustainable business model. We rely on partnerships with organizations like Maine State Credit Union to provide funds or in-kind products and services that can help offset costs, provide scholarships, and help keep ticket prices reasonable. And there’s value in business exposure and goodwill when their customers see those brands aligned with ours. It’s a relationship that benefits the whole community.”

Businesses can show their support of The Waldo in two ways: Partnership and Sponsorship. Partnership is like an investment in the theatre that reaches all audiences with year-round visibility. Sponsorship helps cover the costs of a particular program or event, for which businesses receive advertising exposure via print, online, broadcast media, and more. Details regarding The Waldo’s Business Partners and Sponsors program are available on their website thewaldotheatre.org/businesses, or by calling the theatre at 207-975-6490.
