A Boothbay man on a stopped motorcycle was struck by a slow-moving mobile home Aug. 29 while waiting for a mother duck and her ducklings to cross the road.

Alex Antoine, 22, had stopped his 2011 Kawasaki motorcycle around 2 p.m. near the Shore Hills Campground entrance. Frank Jordan, 88, of Lisbon Falls was driving his 1999 Fleetwood Motor Home south on Route 27. According to Lt. Brendan Kane of Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department, Jordan slowed to turn into the campground and didn’t see the stopped motorcycle.

Jordan and his wife, Patricia Jordan, 86, wore seat belts and were not injured. Antoine complained of back problems and had possible internal injuries, according to Kane. Antoine was transported by Boothbay Region Ambulance Service to Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta. Kane reported no charges are pending and the investigation is over.
