News and notes from the Community Center
Fall is coming, cooler evenings and earlier sunsets. Enjoy the late summer weather.
The Community Center still needs more volunteer drivers for our People Helping People Program. Most of the rides are right here in the Boothbay region, but occasionally folks need to go to Damariscotta or possibly Brunswick. Think about volunteering for one day, or maybe half a day, a week or every other week. Every little bit helps.
The Community Center is still looking for an office manager. We hope to find someone who is organized, comfortable with Word, Excel, Social Media, and be the welcoming face of the Community Center, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please call 633-9876 or send an email to communitycenterofbbr@gmail.com to schedule an interview.
Fresh vegetables are still available every Friday morning. The veggies are donated by Town Village Food Bank Farm and Veggies to Table. Bring your own bag on Friday mornings until 2 p.m.
Our schedule for Sept. 16 through Sept. 20 is:
Monday: Drop-in Knitting 10 a.m.-noon
Tuesday: Mah Jongg 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Wednesday: Cribbage 12:30-2 p.m.
Thursday: Mexican Train Dominoes 10 a.m.-noon; Cribbage and Mah Jongg 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Friday: Scrabble, Rummikub and Bridge Noon-2 p.m.
Puzzles, coffee, tea, goodies, and good camaraderie are always available, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. all week long. Please save us from eating too many goodies ourselves by coming in and sharing our snacks. And we always welcome new faces and new ideas. Hope to see you soon.
