ImPACT test offered to students
The ImPACT test is offered to all Boothbay Region High School students through a partnership between Lincoln County Healthcare and the school. By providing a baseline of how a student functions normally, the test helps students, their parents and coaches determine when a student athlete has fully recovered from a sports-related concussion and is ready to take the field again.
The vast majority of people who have suffered a concussion will recover fully if they are not reinjured before they have healed. Grinnell said the test plays an important role in improving safety by giving parents, coaches and healthcare providers objective data to help guide decision making.
For more information or to schedule a test, parents or students can contact Grinnell, their coaches, the School Based Health Center or the school office.
