Lady Seahawks lose two more
The Boothbay Region Lady Seahawks field hockey team has improved its play the past two weeks but not enough to get its first win of the season.
On October 4, Boothbay lost at home, 1-0, to Hall-Dale, and on October 7, at Mountain Valley, the Falcons prevailed 4-1.
The October 4 game at Perkins Field was a virtual stalemate. There were few shots on goal by either team (six total) and only 16 penalty corners; Hall-Dale had nine and Boothbay had seven.
Shanay Gilbert got the only goal with 17:45 to play in the first half.
Boothbay has two more games to try and get that elusive win. They play at Spruce Mountain on Friday, Oct. 11 and at Telstar on Monday, Oct. 14. Boothbay lost at home to Spruce Mountain, 9-0, and to Telstar, 7-1, earlier in the season.
