The Boothbay Region High School Lady Seahawks field hockey team lost its final two games of the 2013 season this week, 9-0 at Spruce Mountain in Jay and 2-0 at Telstar in Bethel. The team’s only seniors, Tori Schmid and Brooke Alley, played their last game on October 14 in Bethel.

Despite its winless season (0-14), the team was competitive in several games. They lost 1-0 to Hall-Dale, 2-1 to St. Dom’s, 3-1 to Mountain Valley and 2-0 to Telstar.

First-year coach Kristin Smith said this was a rebuilding year with several young players. Now, with a year of experience, the 2014 season looks a bit more promising.
