Boothbay girls edge Bulldogs, lose to Phoenix
The Lady Seahawks varsity basketball team avenged an earlier regular season loss to the Hall-Dale Bulldogs on Monday night, January 27 with a 44-41 overtime win in Farmingdale. Morgan Crocker led everyone in scoring as the Lady Seahawk junior poured in 25 points. Junior Sara Durgan added nine points for Boothbay, which now has a 7 -9 record with two games to play in the regular season.
Hall-Dale, which dropped to 9-6, was led by Allison Crockett and Eva Shepherd with nine points each.
At Spruce Mountain on Friday, the Lady Seahawks fell for the second time this season to the Phoenix, 57-42, despite 31 points from Morgan Crocker.
The Lady Seahawks will travel to Wiscasset on Thursday, Jan. 30 to face the Wolverines, who have won their last two games over Monmouth and Lisbon. Boothbay easily defeated Wiscasset at home, 48-30, the first week in January.
