Lady Seahawks face Seagulls February 11
The Boothbay Region High School Lady Seahawks varsity basketball team, which finished in 13th place in the Western Maine Class C standings, will travel to Old Orchard Beach to take on the fourth-ranked Seagulls in a preliminary tournament game on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 6 p.m.
Boothbay (7-11) played Old Orchard (13-5) during a holiday tournament at Old Orchard and defeated the Seagulls.
“Junior guards Abby Dubois, Haley Plante and Mackenzie Rague lead an uptempo attack for the Seagulls,” Coach Tanner Grover said about Old Orchard. “They don't have much size, but they love to get out and run. This is a team that relies on their full court pressure and 3-point shooting to create offense. Dubois, in particular, is a standout offensive player. The Lady Seahawks will have to keep the turnovers down and contest OOB's shooters to pull out the victory.”
The winner of the game will move on to play the winner of the Madison/Traip Academy prelim in the quarterfinal round of the Western Maine Class Tournament at the Augusta Civic Center on Tuesday, Feb. 18.
