Boothbay edges Hall-Dale, loses to Oak Hill
The Boothbay Region High School field hockey team won its second 1-0 game of the season on Monday, Sept. 22 at Hall-Dale. The win improved the Seahawks record to 3-3-1 halfway through the regular season.
Sophomore Nicole Clarke scored off an assist from freshman Page Brown at the 16:16 mark of the first half.
Boothbay goalie Erica Eames saved all six shots made by the Bulldogs. Hall-Dale goalie Molly French made eight saves on 11 shots.
The Seahawks junior varsity tied Hall-Dale 1-1.
Oak Hill
Monday's win came after a loss at home against the undefeated (8-0) and Western Maine Class C leading Oak Hill Raiders, 6-2, on Friday, Sept. 19.
Boothbay trailed at halftime, 3-1, with Seahawk freshman Sydney Meader scoring the first of her two goals on the day.
The Seahawks played well in the second half, but Oak Hill repeated the first half with three more goals.
Kylee Veilleux and Sadie Goulet each scored two goals and Oak Hill got additional goals from Lexi Fuller and Danielle Samson.
Eames made 21 saves against Oak Hill.
Oak Hill won the junior varsity game, 5-0.
As of Tuesday, Boothbay was seeded in eighth place in the Eastern Maine Class C Heal point standings.
