Y Arts Alumni Concert Jan. 9
Members of the Y Arts Alumni will come together for a one night only concert, Friday, Jan. 9, to support the program they grew up in.
Performing alumni include Courtney Chaney, Sophia Thayer, Nate Friant, Ben Dewey, Jane Bertelsen, Emily Mirabile and Roosevelt Bishop.
The alumni will be joined by special guests Ben Betts and Kelsey Krull, as well as current Y Arts performers Genevieve Taylor and Noelle Timberlake.
Hosted by Y Arts voice students, Jordan Chamness and Emme Harris, the first half of the concert will include a mix of musical theatre favorites and modern pop songs.
There will be a 15-minute intermission with refreshments and baked goods provided by the Y Arts family and friends.
The music in the second half of the concert will be all acoustic by Betts on guitar and ukulele, Chaney on ukulele and tambourine, and Thayer on shakers.
Y Arts performers past and present will join voices in singing “I'm Yours,” “Imagine” and “Don't Worry, Be Happy,” the concert finale.
The concert begins at 6 p.m. at the Congregational Church of Boothbay Harbor.
General admission is $5. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Y Arts programs in 2015.
The Congregational Church of Boothbay Harbor is located at 125 Townsend Avenue in Boothbay Harbor.
