BRES cross-country teams compete at Medomak
The Boothbay Region Elementary School cross-country teams tuned up for the league championship October 18 by competing at Medomak Valley Middle School October 11. Competing against their toughest competitors, Camden-Rockport Middle School, and three other teams, the Wildcat teams both finished second behind Camden.
The boys meet, which was won by Boothbay's Joey Paolillo, who is undefeated this season, was very competitive as Camden edged the Wildcats, 31-34.
Faith Blethen came in third overall for the BRES girls, who lost to the very talented Camden team, 19-51.
Other top finishers for the Wildcat boys included Jay Hasch (fifth), Blake Erhard (sixth), Kyle Ames (eighth) and Sam Burnham (sixteenth).
Also scoring points for the BRES girls were Helen Hamblett (eighth), Willow Beavis (eleventh), Olivia Paolillo (sixteenth) and Lincoln Hamblett (seventeenth).
