In one of its biggest tests to this point, the Boothbay Region High School boys varsity basketball team (11-1) proved why it is still a major player in Class C, as the Seahawks knocked off previously unbeaten Winthrop, 53-46, on Thursday night, Jan. 15.

Visiting Boothbay jumped out to a 16-2 lead and had to survive a 15 to nothing run by the host Ramblers in the fourth period.

Evan Hepburn led the scoring with 17 point with John adding 13 and Abel Bryer 12.
