A registered sex offender who allegedly failed to notify police of a change in address has been arrested by the Wiscasset Police Department.

David Doray, 39, of Wiscasset was arrested Feb. 13 and charged with two misdemeanor counts alleging he failed to notify the authorities when he moved.

Doray is a lifetime registrant on the Maine sex offender registry.

Doray was arrested by Wiscasset Police Officer Harrison Wiegman after Wiegman conducted several interviews and determined that Doray allegedly no longer lived at his Alna Road residence. Wiegman writes in his arrest report that he believes Doray had moved in November 2014 to a Dickinson Road residence.

One of the conditions of his release was to notify the Wiscasset Police Department if he moved, and on Feb. 6 Doray allegedly still registered his address at the Alna Road address.

Shortly thereafter Wiscasset Police Chief Troy Cline spoke with Assistant District Attorney Andrew Wright, who reportedly stated he was going to revoke Doray's release, according to court documents.

Doray was arrested a week later and charged with his second count of failure to register, Class D, and Class E violating the conditions of his release, which stipulated he commit no new crimes.

Doray was given a deferred disposition in August 2014 from the Lincoln County District Court stemming from a Class D charge of failure to register. As part of his six-month deferred disposition agreement, he was supposed to register as a sex offender and not commit any new crimes.

After being arrested Feb. 13, Doray's deferred disposition was revoked and he was held without bail, pending his hearing.
