‘High School Musical’ opens May 20
Join the Boothbay Region High School (BRHS) Drama Club as they portray the East High “wildcats” in the Disney production, “High School Musical,” opening May 20.
The cast of 30 students have been rehearsing diligently with director Chris Holmes (2008) and drama teacher/music director Mary Miller to perfect this energetic romp portraying typical student issues.
Anyone who has seen the movie will know the production is full of great musical numbers sung by the well known characters that everyone has come to know and love. A highlight of the show will be the guys number, “Get’cha Head n the Game,” complete with basketball choreography!
With so many talented kids, some of the parts of have doubled, so there is a cast A and a cast B. Talent is equally distributed, so any production night will be worth attending.
Parents involved in the production are Dave Bryer (incredible set making and painting), Jim Buckingham (light expertise), Kerrin Erhard (auditions and rehearsal monitor), Heather Lorrain (program and rehearsal monitor) and Moncia Elder (house manager).
Devin Cromwell of Trebled Productions, is sharing his expertise in sound production.
