An Edgecomb man is charged with engaging a prostitute in connection with an alleged prostitution ring at a Zumba fitness studio in Kennebunk, Kennbunk police said.

The charge against Thomas F. Powers, 56, of 708 River Road in Edgecomb, was among the latest list the Kennebunk Police Department released in the case that has drawn national attention.

Kennebunk Police Chief Robert MacKenzie confirmed November 13 that Powers' charge stems from that same investigation, which has resulted in several prostitution charges against Zumba instructor Alexis Wright, 29, of Wells.

Powers is scheduled to appear in Biddeford District Court January 23, 2013, according to a press release from the Kennebunk Police Department. His name and those of others recently charged with engaging a prostitute were posted at www.kennebunkpolice.org.
