A group of parents, Boothbay Charities Classic volunteers, and Special Olympians spent their Saturday raising money for Special Olympics Maine at the Circle K in Boothbay Harbor.
Volunteers washed car windows and asked for donations from people at the station. Volunteers included Tony Krason, Brenda Blackman, Estelle Appel, Ken Marston, Devin Klemanski, Chloe Desjardins (who wore a recent gold medal she earned in soccer), and Chloe's mom Sarah Riggens.
Everyone who bought gas that day helped, whether they realized it or not, because for every one dollar of gas purchased at the station, five cents was donated to Special Olympics Maine.
