Evy Case qualifies for states in first home game
The Seahawks swim team had its first meet of the season at home on Dec. 4 against the St. Dom’s Saints and Lincoln Academy Eagles.
This year’s team is small with only seven swimmers and no boys on the team currently. The group made an impressive first showing regardless, with Evy Case qualifying for the state meet in both the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:26:25 and the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:14:73 (both first places). The team also came in second in four events, fourth in three events and fourth in one event.
The team's second places were Emma Pearce in the 200-yard IM and 500-yard freestyle, and the relay teams in the 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard medley.
Other teams members this year include captain Samantha Carter, Chelsie Graves, Annielyn MacKusick, Genevieve Taylor and Molly Thibault.
The next meet is at home on Friday, Dec. 11 against Gardiner starting at 6 p.m.
