Smith earns second consecutive MWBCA weekly honor

University of Maine at Farmington senior Meghan Smith of Boothbay was selected to the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) weekly honor roll on Wednesday, Dec. 16.
Smith recorded her fifth double-double of the season and fourth in the last five games in the Beavers’ only game of the week on Dec. 9 at Bowdoin. Smith recorded a team-high 13 points and set a game-high with 11 rebounds for her 12th career double-double. The senior’s 11 rebounds matched the combined total of four Bowdoin starters. Smtih shot 5-of-8 for the game and nailed three attempts from the free throw line. Smith leads the nation this season with 79 attempts.
UMaine-Farmington returns to action after the holiday break on Friday, Jan. 5 against conference rival Thomas College.
Smith is the daughter of Hazen and Jennifer Smith.
