School holds carnival benefits Nordic ski team
Looking for a fun holiday activity for the whole family and a chance to support local kids? Then head to the Boothbay Region Elementary School gym this Saturday, Dec. 8, where the high school Nordic Ski team will host a Holiday Carnival and Ticket Auction from 3 to 5 p.m.
Bring the whole family for a great time as there will be plenty of fun to be had by all. The little ones will enjoy playing a wide variety of carnival like games; a 25-cent ticket is good for one game play and the chance to win a prize.
Everyone will enjoy trying their luck at the ticket auction, where for a 25-cent ticket you’ll have the opportunity to win fantastic items donated by many local businesses. The way that the auction works is that people buy a ticket for 25 cents, fill it out with their personal information, and drop it in the paper bag in front of the item of their choice. There is no limit to the number of tickets you can buy or the amount of tickets you can use towards any single item.
While you are there, feel free to stop by the Snowflake Cafe for a cup of hot cocoa, a hot dog, or a bag of popcorn. All of the proceeds from the fundraiser go to the Nordic Ski team to help purchase team equipment.
To date, the following local businesses have generously donated items for the auction: Flagship Inn, Video Loft, House of Pizza, Harbor General Store, The Cutting Edge, Janson’s Clothing, Good N’ You, Hometown Convenience, Boothbay Harbor Framers Gallery & Gifts, Oasis Day Spa, Mung Bean, Sherman’s Bookstore, The Village Store, Hannaford Supermarket, A Silver Lining, Brown’s Wharf, The Red Cup, Hawke Motors, Boothbay Region Greenhouse, Slicks Boutique, Oak Street Provisions, Thistle Inn, Ebb Tide Restaurant, The Cannery, Christmas Magic, Midcoast Clock & Music Company, Studio 53, Balmy Days, Tigger Leather LTD Sliversmith, and China By the Sea.
